CLCAPs

Neighbourhood Watch Meeting 6.30pm-8pm on Tuesday 27th March 2018 at the Snaith Community Sports Hall, Pontefract Road, DN14 9LB

The focus of the meeting is the development of the area crime plan as part of the Community Led Crime Action Plan Initiative (CLCAPs).
The Community Led Crime Action Plan Initiative has been developed to support the Police and Crime Commissioners ‘Three Key Aims”.  The CLCAPs are being developed at local level by the Community and Crime Reduction Resilience Officer (CCRRO) for East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Neighbourhood Watch (NHW) Coordinators and Humberside Police.  The main purpose of the plan is to prioritise local issues with the aim of reducing the fear of crime and increase the self sustainability of safe communities in the East Riding.  CLCAPs will empower and give focus to the role of Neighbourhood Watch; priority issues will be set by the coordinators on behalf of their residents, and the issues to be included on the plan will be agreed by the CCRRO and Humberside Police who will then collectively agree realistic and manageable actions alongside local Town and Parish Councils and any other external partners, developing an inclusive approach to local issues.  The plans will enable NHW Coordinators to set their own priorities and include the issues that most concern residents and create a fear of crime.  CLCAPs will inform residents of any future or on going initiatives and actions already in place that tackle crime and anti-social behaviour (ASB).  Timely but realistic deadlines will be set to review each plan and the agreed actions (usually every 6 months) therefore improving accountability and communication.  The plans and updates will be available to residents through NHW Coordinators and where possible through local Town and Parish Councils.
