Horse Riding in Pollington.
If you are a horse lover, or rider, or just love the countryside, living in Pollington has many advantages. If you are a horse owner, there are a number of livery yards to suit your needs. You can also have some very pleasant rides out in the countryside, often seeing deer. Riding out along the Trans-Pennine Trail towards Sykehouse, and on to Fosterhouse and Fishlake on quiet country lanes and with no major roads to cross, you can make your ride as long or short as you wish.
There is an arena at Sykehouse which holds shows, show-jumping and dressage throughout the year. Click here for their website.
There are no riding schools in Pollington, but West Bank Riding in Moss Green Lane, Carlton, is not too far away. Contact 01405 869642.
With thanks to Pat Hart for her advice.
On New Years Day, there is usually an equestrian event centred around the Kings Head pub. For example, a charity ride was held there recently, and the Badsworth and Bramham Hounds have met there from time to time.
